Did not love the flashing lights during class in the background but that’s just my preference. Playlist was unique and transitioned between hip hop, 90s rock, 2000s hits, a little EDM. I get lightheaded very easily (long covid) and it made me too woozy, but if you want an intense class this one is worth trying! Vibes are a little crossfit-y, so be warned if you don't want that

Izzy opened the class with nice warm ups that felt natural before diving into two main sets of flow: (1) on the mat followed by (2) standing up only where we work our way to final stretches and laying on back. Lots of intentional side openers and holds with breathwork that break out of the typical sun salutation. Izzy always gives a lot of cues and clarifies the subtle rotations needed for the moves. I feel like I learn something new about a move each time. Great style for intermediate yogis. Thanks.

Now 9 minimum and often 10-12. Surge pricing for this makes no sense. This class was less than half full. He created a safe environment where I felt empowered to explore, and zero shame about modifying in ways that felt right for my body. This is a tough fitness ethos to find, and I really enjoyed and trusted his calm and descriptive instructions. I left having had a great workout, and a clearer mind after a challenging day.

Alycia is one of the most skilled fitness instructors I’ve ever had. I push myself in ways I don’t in other people’s classes. I also never feel like I have to increase my speed in this class just because other people are. There are other Barry’s instructors who really push everyone beyond their limits (especially the OGs) to a place where it might not be the healthiest, but she doesn’t. I’d take all my running averse friends to her class just so that they can see it’s not that bad after all!! Can’t wait to go back. Go to her class… you might still hate running, but you’ll find that it’s finally accessible!!

I would say if you haven’t tried many Pilates classes before you may want to a few before coming here just because it’s fast paced and a lot different from classical Pilates. I’m thinking this may be along the lines of lagree Pilates. If you are looking for a challenge this is it! In a class with two instructors I didn’t see either of them give a single correction or note to a full class of people. F45 is like the Cava of workout classes. It’s solid and reliable but also uninspiring and somewhat bland. It basically feels like doing a workout video in a class environment.
