You have two sets of weights (one medium and one heavy) with the opportunity to play around and figure out if you need heavier weight. The class went by wicked fast and Abbie gave really great cues throughout. Definitely worth taking and will go again!

One often overlooked quality of a truly great fitness instructor is musicality, which Kathleen has - she did all of her transitions to the 8/32 count effortlessly rather than annoying countdowns from 10 with zero relation to the music. For dancers or people with music/fitness experience this kind of thing gets so annoying. Her energy was down to earth and relaxed too - I’m hoping to see similar vibes from the other barre instructors at this studio.

The only small problem I had was I couldn’t hear the instructor, maybe it was because I was under the speaker, but a microphone would have been helpful, the instructor was talking as loud as she could, so it wasnt her fault or anything of the such. see all reviewsThis was my first time trying barre and I loved it! This class felt challenging but doable. I felt my booty burn in places I didn’t know existed!! I loved the core section of the work out but wish it went on a bit longer. Overall it was a great experience, Nikki even walked us through stretching afterwards for a few minutes which was a great warm down. Only downside is the cafe has a large window connected to the workout room so if you don’t like the feeling of working out with people watching come early to secure a spot on the opposite side of the room. Over all I’d rate this class a 10/10 and will definitely be returning!

Amazing teachers, bumping community, prime location right at the intersection of Logan Square and Avondale, and great sequences. The class I did today was a blend of the Breathe and Restore modalities. It was a great introduction to breathwork for me followed by a soothing sound bath. The only negative is sometimes the classes book out ahead of time, so make sure to save your spot early. Thankful I found this community. I will be back to try their yoga and strength training classes!
