No signing in or waivers—just walk in and get started, seems like most people are their regular students and they are young, kind of feeling like I'm in a summer camp for boxing. As the only newbie, I struggled to understand what'scoming next during the warm-up. I had to ask the coach for guidance, and he simply told me to grab a rope. Most of the time, I found myself glancing at others to figure out what to do next. During the paired punches, it felt a bit awkward since I was the only woman in the class, so I ended up paired with a guy. Getting punched in the chest was unavoidable—not a huge deal but definitely a bit strange at first. I noticed they offer women-only sessions, but those aren't available on Classpass. That said, it was a solid workout: 90 minutes and I burned over 800 calories! I won't recommend to anyone new to boxing, but if you want to challenge yourself, may be good to try.
