The class had a good flow - more vigorous than Yin, but more relaxed and slower paced than other classes. Only feedback I have is that it would be helpful for the instructor to give hands on adjustments, especially since the class is focused on alignment. There were only 5 students in the class so it wouldn’t been too difficult to do this. She should have at least offered commentary on our alignment, even if she prefers not to do adjustments.

This studio, it's owner, and it's teachers provide a comforting environment for people new or seasoned in yoga practice. The space is always clean, welcoming and full of people wanting to connect through yoga and beyond. The Up Dog community is the safest and most welcome I have ever felt in a studio. From the people who practice there, to the volunteers, to the teachers who all have impeccable sequencing and music. I cannot suggest this space enough whether you are passing through and/or grounding down long term.

Carly does a phenomenal job of setting the tone and the music really put me in the right mindset. It gets really hot in the room so make sure to bring plenty of water and something breathable because you’re going to sweat. I’ll be sure to come back!

Yoga is so much more than asana and exercise and while Ali definitely stoked the fire within me with a powerful Ashtanga vinyasa sequence (e.g., we literally we fogged up the windows), she took the time to actually TEACH us something more. Starting the class with breath work and a dharma talk was a breath of fresh air not felt in many DC power classes. Can’t begin to express how much I loved it.

Alex is a natural authentic teacher who makes it a point to ensure everyone in class feels supported and included. I felt emotionally healed afterwards. Plus, the physical practice was challenging. The studio is heated which really allows to go even deeper into the yin poses. Whatever soreness or aches and pains I had gets removed by the time I leave class. Taye does a great job verbalizing throughout the class and is attentive to any student needs. I so appreciate her positive energy!
