There was a lot of core work and strengthening built into the flow by pausing on certain poses and doing lifts and dips and various add ons which made the practice far from the regular flow I’m used to. The newness kept me on my toes. The rest periods were camouflaged inside of active stretches sprinkled inside of the larger power flow. It was nice to work up to a pose I couldn’t perform myself but feel as though the steps we took during the class had lead me closer to it than I’ve ever been before. She had a great control of the timing during class and neither side felt neglected. It was a solid class and even without heat I sweat my butt off.

It’s outdoors but well covered and ventilated so that it still feels good to do even under the Florida weather while enjoying fresh breeze, and the sound of trees and birds. The stretching class I took felt like a combination of different practices, not just yoga. I was expecting it to be light and easy, and it was surprisingly challenging but still doable and fun. If I can say something that I didn’t love was that the teacher breath counts for holding the poses or repeating movements was a little too fast for me. Maybe because I tend to breath deep and long when doing it consciously, but I’d say her counting was more similar to the breath of a person doing cardio. That didn’t take away from the experience, however, I simply adjusted and learned from the new techniques introduced. I look forward to trying the other classes offered!
