I love Yogabox but there’s a culture of people leaving before savasana and bringing/using phones in the studio room that can be disruptive and frustrating as another student. It was like 100 degrees outside and the space was pretty warm—so dress accordingly. I usually focus on strength or circuit training, but I love Class Pass because it allows you to try new things outside your usual routine. This was a great place to try something new and learn a new way to think about my body and balance. Will definitely be back.

I will say as a beginner, I probably would have benefited from mirrors on all walls as we rotated but she would move around to help keep her in our vision. I was sweaty but the mats were super grippy so I never felt like I was going to slip, but they offered full length towels (in addition to hand towels) that some laid over their mats. Music was a nice r&b lo-fi vibe to fill the silence but not be distracting. I’ll definitely return!

I think there’s a common misconception that tai chi is for older people due to its slow pace. I disagree! The movements were more challenging to hold due to the pace, and it forced me to actually be mindful about my form (as opposed to blasting through reps). Additionally, the core work and forms involved prepare you for this and other martial arts. The teacher is great and the studio was easy to find in the fitness center. Highly recommend!
